Scott Apgar Owner/Sales Rep Years in the Industry: 30Rookie Year at Metro: 1991Took over as President: 1999As a golf and gardening enthusiast in his youth, Scott jumped at the opportunity to manage Mill River Lawn and Garden Supply, located in Bedford Hills, NY, in 1984. While getting started in the retail business he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Behavioral Science and a New York State Teaching Certificate from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY in 1985. Over the last 14 years Scott has grown Metro from a three man operation to one that now supports a dozen employees on the Metro staff. To keep his fingers on the pulse of the industry, Scott has accounts in the Westchester/Fairfield County area. When not guiding Metro, Scott helps the MetGCSA Advertising and Education committees. He also enjoys running, swimming, fishing, photography and watching his wife and two sons compete in racing.

At an early age, Todd looked forward to joining the family business. In order to develop a better understanding of the industry, Todd worked summers of high school and college on the maintenance crews of Anglebrook Golf Club and Somers Pointe Country Club. As the years went on, Todd was hired as a Second Assistant at Anglebrook Golf Club where he was mentored by Lou Quick and Scott Imbro. This allowed him to partake in the vigorous daily schedule of a Golf Course Superintendent. After these Summers, Todd started working in the office at Metro. Todd went to Monmouth University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. After months of working inside, Todd went to Rutgers University for the winter course and to learn more about the business he looks to be a member of. Todd’s territory is the state of Connecticut. In his free time Todd enjoys running and golf.

Rich began working in the golf industry during his high school years at Heritage Hills Golf Club in Somers, NY under Todd Polidor. He went to Lynchburg College in Virginia then transferred to Manhattan College in Riverdale. After pursuing his college goals, he decided to join the family business in 2010. He has worked his way up in the company from making deliveries and keeping track of inventory, to now being the Long Island sales representative. In his free time he enjoys going to the shooting range, fishing and golf.

Jake grew up in Union, KY and participated in the construction of Aston Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, OH. He completed his internships at Triple Crown CC in Union, KY, Roaring Fork Club in Basalt, CO and Greenwich CC in Greenwich, CT. He then spent ten years of his career as assistant superintendent at The Country Club of New Canaan. In Jake's new role as a sales representative he will concentrate his effots in CT and a portion of NY. In this role Jake will have the opportunity to utilize his fifteen years of experience in the turf industry.

Matt Topazio

Matt grew up in Watertown, CT. From an early age he had a love for golf and a passion to be in the industry. He went on to SUNY DELHI to earn his degree, then to The Tuxedo Club where he started as an intern and worked his way to 1st Assistant over his 8 year tenure. Matt accepted his first Superintendents position in the spring of 2005 at New York Country Club. He spent 10 years at the club with his last 2 years fulfilling the role as General Manager. He has served on the Hudson Valley Board for the past 8 years, concluding with his presidency this past year. His territory will focus on the Hudson Valley along with portions of Northern New Jersey. In Matt's new role as Agronomic Consultant, he will have the ability to extend his wealth of knowledge and experience to his customers. He has 20 plus years' experience in the industry. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family as well as golfing, fishing and rooting for his beloved Yankees, Giants and UConn Huskies.
